V-1 Flying Bomb (FI 103) 1:35 #3135

V-1 Flying Bomb (FI 103) 1:35 #3135

The V-1 Flying Bomb (Fieseler Fi 103) set in 1:35 scale will allow you to create one of the most groundbreaking inventions of World War II - the V-1 rocket, also known as the "flying bomb".

The V1 was designed by German engineer Fritz Gosslau and was the first weapon to combine the features of an aircraft and a missile, becoming the foundation for later ballistic missiles.

Powered by a jet engine, the V-1 reached speeds of up to 640 km/h and had a range of 250 km, enabling attacks on targets in Great Britain. The first attacks on London took place in the summer of 1944, and the rocket used a simple navigation system based on an odometer, which allowed it to precisely reach its target. The V-1 was mainly produced in Germany, in special plants in Peenemünde, and later in other secret locations in occupied Europe. In addition to London and the coast of England, V-1 rockets were used to bomb cities such as Antwerp and Lille.

The V-1 was part of the German retaliatory weapons program "V" and was the prototype of later rockets such as the V-2. Although less effective than the V-2, the V-1 rocket had a huge, demoralizing potential. After the war, this technology had a major influence on the development of ballistic missiles in the USA and the USSR.

This set is a great opportunity to feel the atmosphere of World War II and delve into the history of German war technologies.
